A Brazilian butt lift is a cosmetic procedure that improves the buttocks area by using fatty deposits from other parts of the body. It is an ideal treatment for individuals looking to add more volume and shape to that area.

Like most invasive cosmetic procedures, a Brazilian butt lift will require a recovery period. If you are in reasonably good physical condition before the surgery, chances are your recovery process will go smoothly and include no complications.

But what does a Brazilian butt lift actually entail? And what is the recovery process like? Let’s take a look!

What is A Brazilian Butt Lift?

A Brazilian butt lift is a specialized fat transfer procedure that changes the size and shape of the buttocks without the need for implants. How is it done? Excess fat is removed from the hips, abdomen, lower back, or thighs with liposuction, and part of that fat is then injected into the buttocks. It can help enhance the buttocks and help you reduce fat in an area where it’s unwanted. And the results can last years!

Recovering From A Brazilian Butt Lift

Once the procedure is completed, there will be a certain amount of recovery time. You may feel some discomfort initially as well as experiencing some swelling and bruising. But this is all normal. Dr. Howland will prescribe pain medication and provide a compression garment. He will also give you some post-op instructions. Make sure to follow them completely.

Compression Garment

The compression garment is one of the most important parts of the healing process. Since there will be bleeding and swelling, the garment will help stem that bleeding and decrease the amount of swelling you see. The garment can also help promote the circulation of oxygen in the treated area.

Relax

You will also need to stay offer your feet and your buttocks for a period of time. All sleeping should be done on the stomach or side and if you need to sit, you should use an inflatable pillow. But to ensure the blood is circulating properly in the treated area, you won’t want to sit for long periods of time for 6-8 weeks after the surgery.

You’ll also want to get as much sleep as possible to promote healing.

As the weeks pass and you start to see results, you can incorporate light activities into your daily routine.

Follow-Up

After the procedure, your doctor will schedule follow-up appointments to check on your results and see how you’re healing. Be sure to make it to these appointments. They are vital to ensuring you’re healing properly and that there are no complications.
