What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?

A Brazilian butt lift is a buttock augmentation procedure done using fat transfer. Unlike other buttock augmentation techniques, like buttock implants, a Brazilian butt lift requires minimal downtime and natural looking results.

Who is a Good Candidate?

If you are unhappy with the shape or size of your buttocks and wish to improve the overall balance of your figure, you may be able to benefit from a Brazilian butt lift. Those who wish to avoid extensive downtime and who wish to see subtle, natural looking results may also be candidates.

What to Expect

A Brazilian butt lift uses fat transfer to augment the size of the buttocks. This means that fat is removed from another area of the body, and re-injected into the buttocks. The first step to a Brazilian butt lift is liposuction, which is performed through very small incisions. A thin tube called a cannula connected to a surgical vacuum will be used to suction out excess fat. This fat is then processed and added into syringes that are connected to a cannula. Small injections of this fat will then be placed in the buttocks to augment its shape and size.

Results from a Brazilian butt lift are immediately visible, with final results becoming apparent after about a year. This is because it takes a while for the fat the “take”. Because a Brazilian butt lift involves using the patient’s own fat, the initial augmentation that you experience right after the procedure may lessen fat is absorbed back into the body. Results may change due to weight gain or loss.
