How Is Carpal Tunnel Surgery Performed?
Dr. Howland might recommend electromyography (EMG) to accurately diagnose carpal tunnel syndrome. Carpal tunnel release surgery itself is typically an outpatient procedure lasting around 45 minutes. During the surgery, Dr. Howland will administer local anesthesia to numb the area for your comfort. During the surgery, Dr. Howland will make a small cut in the palm near the wrist to access and then sever the ligament overlaying the carpal tunnel, effectively reducing pressure on the median nerve and offering symptom relief. Following the surgery, he will suture the incision, and you'll be prepared to return home. Recovery involves limited use of your hand for the first few weeks following surgery. Dr Nick Howland was able to give me the trust I need it to go through a rough surgery for my body. I love the results i love the confidence it gave me back, his staff treated me like a queen. His incisions were perfect and you hardly can tell the incisions since it looks like a hair line. very impressive with his skills for sculpting. I totally will recommend him and use him again.
